Location-specific cards and other feel good greetings

Big Love from has been a whirlwind learning curve in enterprise and creativity! Before I started Enterprise with The Prince’s Trust in February 2015 I had never really thought about pursuing a creative start-up.

I have enjoyed making greetings cards for a long time. I tend to use craft paper, magazine cut outs and my own photography to make fusion collages that are personal to the lucky recipient. I had my “light bulb ping above my head” moment at my Ma’s house over Christmas. Every time I walked into our living room I saw the card I made her and thought I should do something with that. I am still dumbfounded that 12 weeks later I launched a range of Big Love from Bournemouth cards. The design has moved on somewhat since the original but the essence, I believe, has remained.

Now I’ll be honest I have always been a bit jealous of those “arty people” who use their art to make a self-employed living. Let this be a lesson to us all, everyone has their own creativity embedded in them, deep down it is there. The only thing stopping us is Self-Belief. On our first day of my Prince’s Trust adventure, a Mentor wisely told us that believing in ourselves will the only thing that will see us through. Finding the confidence to allow ourselves to be creative is the tricky part….
